CONSTRUCTlON
Coy-Koi's hull and superstructure are reportedly built to Lloyd's Register of Shipping, Rules and Regulations for the Construction of Yachts and Small Craft. The hull form has a round bilge with flared bow sections and transom stern. The hull was constructed by Mekon Shipyard in Lemmer, Holland and is plated with Lloyd's approved Ship Building Steel 42 (Grade A) factory blasted and epoxy coated. The keel is 8mm plate; the bottom is 8mm plate for the first 1000mm on both sides followed by 6mm plate until 150mm above DWL and then 5mm plate on the hull sides and 6mm plate on the stem. The bilge keels are closed box construction plated with 8mm steel. The frames are CNC flat bar 100 x 12mm spaced 500mm apart. There are three web frames built-up of CNC 120 x 12mm plate with 100 x 12mm flange and four watertight bulkheads constructed of 6mm plate. The deck plating is 5mm steel overlaid with teak.
The superstructure is welded aluminum alloy ALMG 4.5 MN (equal to 5083-H 321) with 6mm plate on the front of the house and 5mm plate on the sides over standard aluminum profiles ALMG SI 1 (equal to 6061 T6). The superstructure windows are fixed double pane hardened glass with polished stainless steel window frames. The opening port lights are polished stainless steel and equipped with deadlights.
Tankage for fuel, water, lube oil, waste oil and sludge is integral and the capacities are as follows:
Fuel (approximate): Seven tanks, total capacity 7,930 U.S gallons (30,018l)

Waste oil (approximate): One tank, total capacity 66 U.S. gallons (250l)
Sludge (approximate): One tank, total capacity 92 U.S. gallons (3501)
Tankage tor black and gray water is non-integral and the capacities are as follows:

Comments
Coy-Koi is a superbly built, high quality Doggersbank Offshore 84. She is a long-legged vessel with comfortable trans-Atlantic range as exhibited by the fuel consumption figures below taken from Vripack's specification:
9 knots: 1 x 134 hp (1 x 100 kW) @ 1,375 rpm, 7 gal/hr (26.6l/hr)
10 knots: 2 x 107 hp (2 x 80 kW) @ 1,277 rpm, 11.6 gal/hr (44l/hr)
11 knots: 2 x 174 hp (2 x 130 kW) @ 1,500 rpm, 17.7 gal/hr (67l/hr)
Full load: 2 x 300 hp (2 x 224 kW) @ 1,800 rpm, 29.9 gal/hr (113l/hr)
In the fall of 2006 Coy-Koi returned to Kuipers Shipyard in Woudsend, Holland and received an extensive refit which was completed in the spring of 2007. The entire vessel was repainted by Mast Jachtschi Iders Bv who had applied the original paint when the vessel was built. All the seams in the teak deck that border the steel bulwarks or alloy superstructure were reefed prior to painting and repaid after the new coatings were applied to achieve maximum protection.
In addition to the general maintenance performed on the vessel's systems an Atlas universal power conditioner was installed in the lazarette so the vessel is at home regardless of the native dockside power supply. The DMP monitoring and navigation system was updated with the addition of six new computers, two new super sunlight monitors on the flying bridge and an Anschutz gyro.
The yacht's interior was freshened up with the addition of new upholstery on the settees and chairs, as well as new bunk covers, all by Zijlstra who had done the original work. A new 40" Bang & Olufsen LCD television was installed and the cabinet was retrofitted with a new lift in such a manner that the joinery modification cannot be detected. The teak and holly sole in the pilothouse was extended to run through the galley and dinette and solid teak inserts were added to the steps going to the upper deck.
Coy-Koi has been lovingly cared for by three meticulous owners since her launching. She is ready to explore the oceans of the world in comfort and safety and is a yacht one can be proud of in any marina or anchorage.
Coy-Koi has been imported and U.S. duty is paid.
